About Us

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

We are a community club based in South County Dublin. Shankill GAA Club (CLG na Seanchille ) is Shankill’s local GAA Club and proudly promotes Gaelic Games in the heart of our community. Our club caters for all ages and all skill levels, competing at Football, Hurling and Camogie.

CLG na Seanchille is a voluntary organisation funded by its club members and sponsors.

Our Mission

Shankill GAA Club is all about making friends, staying healthy and having a lot of fun!

Making Friends

Our Academy offers the perfect opportunity for your child to grow and develop in a safe and secure environment, where basic skills of agility, balance & coordination are honed along with important social skills. A great opportunity also to make new friends outside of school.

Having Fun

Fun and participation are central to the ethos of our club, there are no trials to get on the teams as we support the notion of every child gets a go.

Healthy Active Lifestyle

The club also promotes a healthy lifestyle through our participation in programs such as the GAA Youth forum and the GAA Healthy Club initiative which focuses not just on the physical but mental well-being of our members. As a young club with an emphasis on under-age teams we look forward to hearing the opinions of our future leaders.

Community Spirit

Community is at the core of Shankill GAA Club, lots of activities take place away from the pitches, from fund-raising for local charities, the hosting of Operation Transformation to advocating on behalf of our community for adequate recreational facilities not just for GAA but for the community at large.  There are lots of opportunities if you wish to help enhance your community – give us a shout!

Making Memories

Regular trips to Croke Park to support the various Dublin teams are a highlight of the social / sporting calendar … the singing on the buses, the delight of entering Croke Park, the importance of the match (or perhaps it’s the snack-shop), more singing & noise on the return journey home. These are great events and will long live in the memory of young and old alike.

Supporting our schools

The club Games Promotion Officer “coach Steve” has a regular slot in each of our local primary schools – Rathmichael, St Anne’s, Scoil Mhuire & Gaelscoil Phadraig – where he supports the staff by providing coaching to the children.
